COLOR QUESTIONS:

Can the color be guaranteed?

Although it is impossible to definitively match a given color, BDA will try to match as closely as possible to your original file. We cannot be responsible for color shifts or colors that do not match exactly.

If I'm reordering can the color be the same as the last time?

It is not possible that the colors can be matched perfectly from job to job. We will try to match your color as closely as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact match from job to job.

Will the same colors vary in output when printed on different paper stocks?

It is possible that the same colors may vary as light hits the different coatings and materials our eyes are presented with variations of the color.

Why does the final print job look different from how it looked on my monitor?

When viewing artwork on a monitor you are viewing in RGB which is Red / Green / Blue gamut. Printing is done in CMYK - Cyan / Magenta / Yellow / Black. Please prepare your files in CMYK mode in your photo editor to get a better understanding of setting up your colors.

Can I request a template for a custom order?

Yes, we can provide or create a custom template for you. Depending on the complexity, there may be a charge (fee) for templates. Please allow 2-3 business days to receive a custom template.

Can I print using CMYK and match a PMS color?

We do not print using PMS/Pantone inks. You can try and match your PMS color using a color match book, however PMS uses different color formulas than CMYK therefore the color cannot be exact.

FILE SETUP QUESTIONS:

What file types are accepted?

.AI (Adobe Illustrator), .PSD (Adobe Photoshop), .EPS, .CDR (Corel Draw), .PDF, JPG, .TIF

What color space should I send my files in?

All files should be sent in CMYK. If you send files in RGB or PMS Color, a shift WILL occur and we cannot be held responsible for that shift. All files submitted in RGB are automatically converted to CMYK. CAUTION: Your color will change so please use CMYK mode to CREATE your artwork

What are the bleed requirements?

All files must include a 1/8" (0.125 inch) bleed regardless if your design bleeds to the edge or not. An example of bleed setup for a 4" x 6" postcard would be 4.125" x 6.125" or 8.5” x 11” would be 8.625” x 11.125”.

What happens if my files are submitted without any bleed?

The output is your responsibility. The job may not look the way you intended and text left around the edges may be cut off.

What are your resolution requirements?

All rasterized (bitmap) images must be at least 300 dpi. However, 400 dpi for photo images and 1200 dpi for text and line art is highly recommended.

Should I include crop marks in my file?

Don’t ever include crop marks in your artwork. Always submit your artwork at trim size + bleed. An example of bleed setup for a 4" x 6" postcard would be 4.125" x 6.125".

Can I include front and back images in 1 file?

Each side of your artwork must be in a separate file. Do not put both front and back in the same file. If you have a

.pdf, use the extract pages utility under the DOCUMENT menu.

I would like to follow your file requirement standards but how can I get that info?

What happens if I create the wrong canvas size compared to the size of what I actually ordered, what do you guys usually do?

Given a minor difference in size, our staff will adjust to the size ordered. If the difference is too large you will be notified and asked to resubmit your artwork. If a response is not received in 8 hours we have the right to print the artwork as is, without consequence.

ORDER QUESTIONS:

What is your time cut?

12 pm (MST). All orders placed after 12:00 pm will count as the next business day.

Can my order get done early without paying a rush charge? My client does not want to pay for the rush charge?

In order to guarantee your job by a certain date, a rush fee is necessary. Without a rush fee your job can possibly ship prior to the finish date but there is no guarantee that it will be early.

Can I pay when the order is done?

No, all payments are due when orders are processed.

Can I place an order by phone or by email?

You may e-mail or fax your specifications over, including artwork, but a signed & accepted quote sheet is required to be faxed to us at 928-445-8373 prior to starting any order that exceeds $150.

Can I cancel the order?

If the print job has not been started it may be possible to cancel the order. The order will need to be cancelled by the same business day to avoid receiving a cancellation fee.

Can I change the shipment type after a place an order?

This depends on the situation. Please call 928-445-8363 for further assistance.

SHIPPING QUESTIONS:

Can we split the shipment to different shipping locations?

Split shipments are determined on a case by case basis. As of today, you will need to create separate orders to send your printing materials to different locations or using different carriers.

Can I use my own UPS account or any third party carrier for the shipping?

We review these requests on a per order basis.

MAILING QUESTIONS:

Can your uncoated products be ink-jetted on?

Yes all uncoated products can be run through ink-jet and laser printers which is useful for mail jobs.

Can your coated products be ink-jetted on?

No. All UV coated products are unable to be written on.

Can any size or shape be good for mailing?

Not all sizes and shapes are good for mailing. For more information please visit www.usps.gov

QUANTITY QUESTIONS:

Are quantities guaranteed?

Quantities are guaranteed within a variance of plus or minus 10%. Usually the printing industry policy will guarantee the quantity of no less than 10% under or 10% over the quantity. Please over estimate to make sure you receive the correct quantity. BDA will guarantee any quantity over 10,000 pieces.
